Poem Written 10/04

Shoulds, Oughts and Musts

So many shoulds, oughts and musts
In this busy life we lead,
To aim to please our Master
'Twould be a relief, indeed!

Go to God before going to others,
Go to Him before trying things out,
He is quietly waiting
To bring things about.

To trust Him with our very lives,
I'm sure He'd be pleased!
That's why He sent His Son,
That, in Him, we'd be freed!

Put all the unnecessary hassles
Of these shoulds, oughts and musts,
And truly aim to please our Master,
And He'll help us to adjust!

Scripture Reference: “When a man's ways please the Lord, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7
